Some of the local area attractions include:

Seminole Canyon - Ancient pictographs, rugged limestone terrain and spectacular canyons lure visitors to some of the oldest rock paintings in North America.

Val Verde Winery - established in 1883 by Italian immigrant Frank Qualia, making it the oldest bonded winery in Texas.

The Whitehead Memorial Museum - a small frontier village in the middle of Del Rio, Texas. Established in 1962, the Whitehead Museum includes 20 exhibit sites and occupies more than two acres of beautifully landscaped space with a variety of attractions.

Judge Roy Bean - The Law West of the Pecos. Langtry, Texas. The west's most colorful justice of the peace, he ruled America's last frontier in the last decades of the 19th century. A preserved page out of history.

Alamo Village - Brackettville, Texas. Alamo Village is the only replica of the 1863 Alamo Mission. Alamo Village has been the site of over 100 movies and TV productions.

Ma Crosby's Bar & Restaurant - Venture to Old Mexico and enjoy an evening of food and drink. Ma Crosby's is about 9 miles as the crow flies, but if you aren't a crow it's 28 miles.

Lake Amistad - The name means "friendship." The lake is an international recreation area located on the US - Mexico border. Featuring 850 miles of shore line of the finest fishing in Texas. Striped & largemouth bass, catfish and crappie abound.

Val Verde County experiences a full range of weather conditions. We average a low in the upper 30's and high in the lower 60's in January, in which we also get snow. July we average a low in the 70's and highs in the upper 90's. Check the weather before you visit so you dress appropriately.

Licenses - We do not provide hunting licenses. Please come prepared with the correct and current hunting license for your purchased package and at least one photo ID, preferably a drivers license.
